Teaching & Learning Conference at Richmond College a huge success!

The RuTC Teaching & Learning Conference, in partnership with EQR, was the perfect way to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was wonderful to see so many people from EQR colleges all together discussing teaching & learning.

Thanks to everyone who ran such interesting and thought-provoking sessions. A wide variety was on offer, delivered by staff from RuTC as well as staff from BHASVIC, BCoT, Farnborough, Isle of Wight, Richard Taunton and Strode’s.

Thanks in particular go to Clare Dignum, Richmond’s Teaching & Learning Manager and EQR Coordinator, who masterminded the whole day.

Members' Information

You will need to log in to access the members' sections of the website. Please ask your college coordinator for your user name and password. Once logged in go to Your EQR for the majority of the information you need. Only EQR coordinators have access to the review calendar so please ask your coordinator for confirmation of the dates of your review and for the name of your co-reviewer. As you know your college coordinator is the first point of contact for all EQR matters.

What is EQR?

EQR stands for External Quality Review. We are a peer review consortium of sixth form and general further education colleges in the south of England with a geographical spread from Bristol in the west to Bromley in the east and from the south coast to the Home Counties.

What is the aim of the consortium?

Our main purpose is to assist colleges in the continuous improvement of teaching and learning using peer review to share good practice between member colleges. EQR has three main objectives:

  • To give teachers the opportunity to share ideas with colleagues in other colleges
  • To assist colleges as they improve the quality of their work
  • To provide teachers and managers with an external assessment of key areas of work.

Can other colleges join the scheme?

Membership is restricted to the geographical area described above and is at the discretion of the Steering Group which is made up of senior staff representing member colleges.

If you would like to find out more you are welcome to contact Di Lloyd, the Scheme Manager, by emailing dilloyd54@gmail.com for further details.
